"Hands Across The Gavilan Plateau" is a blog to bring together those interested in the forward thinking approach Riverside County has for preserving the many sensitive habitat areas within the county. Riverside has a Multiple Species Habitat Conservation Plan (MSHCP) agreement within its General Plan. This element of the plan addresses the need to be mindful of our thoughts and actions as we further develop Riverside County. Riverside's many county departments work diligently to address all the current and future needs of this county and the many lifestyles of all of it's residents. This is no easy task! But, Riversides planners understand the issues of habitat, the issues if habitat connectivity and the fact that without proper planning, preserving the habitat and that which so many residents and guests to Riverside County enjoy will be domed to failure. So, to ensure that doesn't happen the county works with many agencies to make this habitat conservation program work and work better then any other in all of California. This blog (my first to ever be on or create) is set up to bring all of us together, to talk, to connect, to share and to ensure the MSHCP of Riverside County is "THE PRIDE OF RIVERSIDE!"
